Our Mission:

Citizens in support of the Sea Services.

The Navy League of the United States, founded in 1902 with the support of President Theodore Roosevelt, is a nonprofit civilian, educational and advocacy organization that supports America’s sea services: the Navy, Marine Corps, Coast Guard and U.S.-flag Merchant Marine. The National Capital Council fulfills this mission in Washington, D.C.

Our Programs

Navy League is the foremost citizens’ organization to serve, support and stand with all the sea services of the United States. The National Capital Council of the Navy League works to accomplish this mission locally in the greater Washington, D.C area. Specifically, we proudly support Navy, Coast Guard and Marine commands in Maryland, Virginia and Washington, D.C., as well as the military spouse organizations in our nation’s capital.

Our Mission

We enhance the morale of sea service personnel and their families through national and council level programs. We provide a powerful voice to educate the public and Congress on the importance of our sea services to our nation’s defense, well-being and economic prosperity. We support youth through programs that expose young people to the values of our sea services.
